On Saturday, a Democrat flipped a Texas state senate seat that Trump won by 17 points in 2024. A 30-point swing.
Emmer — whose job is to protect the House majority — said nothing. The president pretended not to know about the election, even though he had endorsed the candidate that lost, including on the day of the election.
Minnesota
He praised West Virginia. He didn’t mention Minnesota once in his tweets. The operation in West Virginia has not been equal in scale or intensity to the one in Minnesota, yet Emmer compared them as such.
His TV hit referenced Minnesota only to attack Walz, Ellison, and repeat fraud talking points. No acknowledgment of constituents, including those who have been protesting weekly outside Emmer’s satellite office in Otsego.
Liam Ramos came home yesterday. Today, his school district canceled classes due to a bomb threat. The climate in Columbia Heights is tense — and their congressman is tweeting about West Virginia.
The Week Ahead
Tomorrow Emmer faces his real test: whipping votes on the CR with a one-seat majority during a partial shutdown.
